Kwibuka means ‘to remember’ and describes the annual commemoration of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. The main purpose for Kwibuka is to prevent and fight against Genocide, its ideology and overcoming its consequences. This year’s Kwibuka-27 marked the 9th commemoration event held in UTB since its existence. Various people come together to take part in this event that is organized and funded by UTB.
The event was done in two series, laying flowers on the graves located at Nyanza Memorial site, brief history of the atrocities that took place at Nyanza and the surrounding areas
